Kaulunani Urban & Community Forestry Program

Kaulunani is the State of Hawaiʻi's Urban & Community Forestry Program housed within the Division of Land and Natural Resources' (DLNR) Division of Forestry & Wildlife. Below are examples of graphic design products I've developed for social media posts, outreach materials, and event posters.

Honolulu Hui F.C. (concept)

Honolulu Hui F.C. are a concept soccer team created for various class projects. The team are located in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi and called the Hui which is ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi (Hawaiian language) for "team" or "united". I chose the native, endemic ʻōpeʻapeʻa (Hawaiian hoary bat) as the mascot to raise awareness for the endangered species.

Tree Canopy Viewer Hawaiʻi

In collaboration with the U.S. Forest Service, Kaulunani developed the first interactive, online Tree Canopy Viewer across all of Hawaiʻi. The application includes additional layers to compare with Tree Canopy such as Heat Severity, Impervious Landcover, Population, and Household Income. I developed these digital products to communicate some of the findings from the Tree Canopy Viewer dataset, some tree canopy targets, and recruitment for the Tree Canopy Viewer Fellowship program.

Arbor Day Hawaiʻi

Arbor Day Hawaiʻi is a holiday dedicated to honoring, planting and enjoying the benefits of trees and been observed in Hawaiʻi for over 110 years. These materials were developed to communicate where Arbor Day celebrations were happening, grant opportunities for host organizations, and some concept Arbor Day Hawaiʻi merchandise. Since this Kaulunani administer the Arbor Day grants opportunities and communicate all the events across Hawaiʻi the color scheme is the same as the parent organization.
